Eleonora Matsuno

Violinist Eleonora Matsuno graduated from the Conservatory ‘G. Verdi’ in Milan in 2003 with her Bachelor of Violin performance under the guidance of Umberto Oliveti. In 2007 Eleonora finished her Master degree from the same institute with the highest possible honours while studying with Gabriele Baffero. Musicians and pedagogues Felice Cusano, Davide Zaltron, Rainer Schmidt and Midori Goto have been great inspirations to her.
A renowned chamber musician, Eleonora regularly colaborates with several national and international ensembles: the Swedish chamber orchestra ‘Camerata Nordica’ (first violin since 2013), ‘Norwegian Chamber Orchestra’, ‘Mahler Chamber Orchestra’, ‘ai Pomeriggi Musicali’ (Milan), ‘Le Cameriste Ambrosiane’ and ‘Alter Ego Ensemble’. Eleonora has recorded for BBC Radio Live in England and for Radio 3 in Italy as the first violin in a string quartet formation.
Eleonora plays on a Jean-Baptiste Vuillaume violin, previously played by Paolo Borciani, thanks to a private loan.
