Cecilie Løken has studied the flute at the Royal Academy of Music in London with William Bennett
and she started her professional carrier at the age of 21. She has given concerts in most of the great concerthalls in the world,
such as Carnegie Hall, Royal Albert Hall, Musikverein and Concertgebouw..
She had her international solo debut 1994 in Zurich playing the Mozart G major concerto, with Mariss Jansons conducting.
From 2009 she is playing with Valery Gergiev’s World Orchestra for Peace.
She has worked as principal flutist with many orchestras, such as Mahler Chamber Orchestra, Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra
and the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra. In 1997-99 Cecilie held the position as principal flutist in the Norwegian Opera,
1999-2002 at the Royal Opera in Stockholm and in Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra 2006-08.
She has released several solo records with big success. In 2003 she was honoured as “Associate of the
Royal Academy of Music” in London. Today she is the principal flutist in The Norwegian Chamber Orchestra.
She regularly gives masterclasses around Europe
